Privacy Policy
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with data brokers or anyone else, and there are no third-party ad trackers on this site. Paid event listings are advertising for events — they promote happenings, not your information.
What we collect and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your email and display name | Signing in, and telling you about your own listing | Until you delete your account |
| Government ID / organization documents | Confirming a real person or org is behind a listing | Stored privately, deleted after the check is complete |
| Listing text, photos, address and dates | This is the public listing itself | While the listing runs, then archived |
| Payment record (tier and amount) | Receipts and accounting | As long as tax law requires |
| Email digest subscription | Only if you opt in — one-click unsubscribe | Until you unsubscribe |
| Saved listings (the hearts) | Convenience only | In your own browser; never sent to us |
Your photos (a promise we keep in the code)
A picture you upload is used for your post, and for nothing else. Before a photo ever leaves your phone or computer, we re-make it from the picture alone and throw away the hidden data cameras attach to it — GPS coordinates of where it was taken, the camera’s serial number, the exact timestamp and the original file name. Photos live in a private store and are only visible with an approved listing; take your listing down and the pictures go with it. We never sell them, never hand them to data brokers, never reuse them on other posts or in marketing, and never use them to train AI models. The only place a picture is sent is our own poster reader, when you ask it to fill in your details from a flyer — and that copy is stripped the same way and is not kept.
What stays private
Government ID is not required for ordinary posting. If an unusually high-risk case or disputed appeal requires stronger proof, we explain why before you choose whether to provide it; any document is private, reviewer-only, and never shown on a listing. Your email address is never displayed publicly — the only contact shown is the one you deliberately put on the listing. Reports are confidential; the poster does not see who reported them.
Cookies
We use one sign-in cookie/session token so you stay logged in, and your browser’s local storage for saved listings. No analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through.
Your choices
You can edit or withdraw your listings at any time, unsubscribe from the digest with one click, and ask us to delete your account and its data. Deleting your account removes your profile, verification records and any draft listings.
Location
If you allow it, your browser tells us roughly where you are so the board can open in your town. Your exact coordinates never leave your browser and are not stored. We remember only the town they resolve to on your device so the board opens in the same area next time; you can change or reset that area at any time.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers that make the site work: our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, our payment processor (which handles card details directly — we never see or store a full card number), and map and geocoding services. They may process data only on our instructions. We also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not use your content to train third-party advertising profiles.
Your rights and how to use them
Wherever you live, you may ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to a particular use. Colorado, California and other U.S. state residents have these rights by statute, including the right not to be discriminated against for using them; UK/EU visitors also have rights of restriction and portability, with our lawful bases being contract (running your account and listings), legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, screening) and consent (the email digest, browser location). Email privacy@goazon.com and we respond within 45 days. You may appeal a refusal by replying to that decision.
Retention, security and children
We keep data only as long as the table above describes, then delete or anonymize it, except records tax and accounting law requires us to retain. Data is encrypted in transit, any exceptional verification document is restricted to reviewers, and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure. The Service is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children; if we learn we have, we delete it.
