Posting guidelines
Goazon works like the cork board at a small-town grocery: anyone in town can read it, so everything pinned to it has to be trustworthy. Read these before you post — listings that follow them are approved fastest.
You’re responsible for what you pin
When you post, you confirm the details are accurate and lawful, you own or have permission for every photo and description, and you — not Goazon — answer for your post and anything that comes from it. Goazon is the board, not the organizer or guarantor of your event, sale or gathering. We screen and review listings to keep the board trustworthy, but screening is not a guarantee, and it never shifts responsibility off you. See the Terms of Use for the full agreement.
What belongs on the board
Real, local, happening
Post events, sales, and gatherings that are actually taking place, at a real place, in or near the town you pin them to. If it wouldn't make sense tacked up at the hardware store, it doesn't belong here.
Complete details
Every listing needs an honest title, the right category, a date (or clear ongoing hours), a start time, and a specific place with a mappable address. Vague listings like 'DM me for details' are rejected.
Accurate category
Choose the category that matches what a visitor will actually experience. A yard sale is not a festival; a fundraiser is not a farmers market. Mis-categorized listings are sent back.
Your own words and photos
Use photos you took or have permission to use. No watermarked stock photos, movie posters, album art, or logos you don't own. Describe the event in plain, honest language.
Honest pricing and ticketing
If there's a cost, say so. Link ticketing to a recognizable checkout page. Never ask people to pay by wire transfer, gift cards, or crypto, and never move the transaction off-platform by pressure.
Safe for every reader
The board is read by the whole town, kids included. Keep titles, descriptions, and photos family-safe. Hate, harassment, adult content, and illegal goods are removed and the poster loses posting rights.
What we don’t allow
- ✕Racism, sexism, hate-group organizing, harassment, or content targeting protected groups.
- ✕Illegal goods or activity: drugs, weapons sales, unlicensed gambling, stolen property.
- ✕Adult or sexual content, nudity, or gore — in text or photos.
- ✕Scam patterns: unrealistic prizes, wire-only or gift-card payment, crypto investment, fake urgency, or missing/mismatched addresses.
- ✕Copyright or trademark misuse: watermarked stock images, famous characters or logos used without license, reposted movie or album art.
- ✕Duplicate or near-duplicate listings, including reposting the same event across multiple accounts.
- ✕Misleading categories, bait titles, or 'DM me' listings with no real date or place.
- ✕Personal attacks, doxxing, or posting someone else's private information.
Category notes
Fun
The catch-all for good times that don’t fit another heading — game nights, trivia, dances, comedy, community socials, and quirky local happenings. It still needs a real date, time, and place like every other listing.
Extra rules for money listings
Categories where money changes hands carry a higher bar, because that’s where scams do the most damage.
Food Truck
Food trucks and mobile vendors post their stop schedule, regular spot, or pop-up hours with a specific location and times. List what you serve and where and when you'll be parked. No off-platform catering contracts or delivery-only listings.
Vehicles & Equipment
This category is for events — poker runs, car shows, tractor pulls, swap meets, and similar gatherings — not for buying or selling vehicles. List the show or meet details, host, and location. Vehicles for sale belong elsewhere.
Auctions
Auctioneers must include a license number we can confirm, plus the auction's real location and preview times.
Estate sales
Must name the hosting company or family, the full street address, and the sale dates. No 'address revealed by email' listings.
Fundraisers
Nonprofits should list their registration or EIN. Personal fundraisers must name the beneficiary and how funds are delivered.
How review works
- 01Confirm your email and account; no government ID is required for ordinary posts.
- 02Every submission and every later edit runs through automated screening for hate speech, scams, illegal goods, and unsafe images.
- 03Every first post gets a human check. Businesses can verify their venue or website, and trusted repeat posters move faster.
- 04A human moderator makes the final call on anything flagged, anything involving money, and suspicious or unusually frequent posting.
- 05Government ID is reserved for a disputed appeal or an unusually high-risk case, not everyday posting.
- 06After publication, reader reports, no-shows, and chargebacks count against a poster's standing. Repeat problems remove the account and every pin it placed.
Not sure if your listing fits?
Ask yourself: would the owner of the hardware store let this stay pinned up? If yes, post it. If you’re unsure, submit it anyway — a moderator will read it and tell you what to fix rather than silently rejecting it.
